You are a marvelous film critic, with a great eye for detail, and a great writer to communicate what you have seen and felt and known from the screen. Thank you so much. I will be reading more of your posts now that I know about you! She seems like such a gracious, warm person. I'm glad to read that, although she's no longer an actress, she continues to be an ambassador for the fine version of TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD. The framed photo at the closing scene, wow. That one framed picture is worth a thousand words. Elegant touch.Bobby Rivershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11757915604307655038noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-412349548038723311.post-44165698961206629292012-12-09T05:57:01.016-08:002012-12-09T05:57:01.016-08:00Lovely article Bobby. You took the words right out...Lovely article Bobby. You took the words right out of my mouth with your comments on one of the film's key opening scenes, when Atticus is sitting on the front porch chair with his arm draped around the right side of the chair where Mrs. Finch used to occupy. We realize at that moment how much Atticus misses her. Yes, the framed photo at the conclusion of the film can only be that of Mrs. Finch. It was a beautiful touch to include the photo of Mrs. Finch in the film's final frames. And I am still ecstatic that that I was able to meet Mary Badham(Scout Finch) at the 50th anniversary screening of the film here in Cleveland. She autographed a photo of Gregory Peck's character, Atticus, hugging her character, Scout. It's framed(like that of Mrs. Finch) and on top of a bookshelf in my den room.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12389248163916758000noreply@blogger.com
